Everyday Witness
In the not-too-distant past, evangelism meant inviting someone to church. Witnessing was sharing an informational flyer about an upcoming event or new program your congregation was launching. Our society expected people to go to church regularly. That has changed, and with the change has come new expectations for evangelism and outreach. Once, the church was the means to a faith conversation. Now, the church becomes part of the conversation after a conversion experience. Today’s outreach focuses on connecting people to Jesus and His amazing gift of salvation.
In this Lutheran Hour (LHM) learning module, participants will learn how to engage non-believers in faith conversations. The course is rooted in modern research by the Barna Institute. The image of the spiritual conversation curve will help participants be more purposeful in their faith-sharing opportunities.
The second LHM course will demonstrate several strategies for opening the doors to faith conversations through engaging community connections. This course is best experienced in a Bible Study or Small Group setting. Community connections are more than service projects helping those in need; they are more than attractional events that promote the church through false promises.
The everyday missionary program can be a catalyst for effective and meaningful evangelism outreach to the community. Start your course today.
