As implied by the title, Unit 3 covers the “next steps” for outreach.  As you implement the practices of Unit 2, you are likely to discover that you will experience objections to the Christian faith.  While the conversational evangelism training from the last unit is the best reaction to objections, sometimes we must press in and go deeper.  This unit explores the societal roots and assumptions that cause many of the objections we experience when we share the good news.  The unit will go one step further by offering an introduction to apologetics.  Apologetics rarely lead to a positive faith sharing experience, it is helpful to be familiar with the strategy.  The unit will also help the participants develop a digital presence for the gospel.  Using the Lutheran Hour training, the participants will discover how to create and leverage safe spaces for faith conversations.  The final lesson of the unit is a consideration of adult instruction or the development of a discipleship path.  Most of our adult instruction paths assume the participants have a church background.  The final presentation offers suggestions for faith formation.
